Step 5 - Import (Total Import Pro For OpenCart)

step5.PNG

Select tables to reset:  If you wish to reset your store, you can choose what you would like to delete before your import. Only tick these boxes if you are sure you would like them deleted because there is no undo. Leave everything unticked if you want to leave your store unchanged before your import

New Items:  Specify what to do with new items from your feed. You can either add them as normal, or skip them to run a pure update only.

Existing Items:  You can choose what to do with items in your feed that are also in your store already. You can either update them based on new data from the feed, or simply skip them to only add new products.

Identify Existing Products by Matching Field:  In order to identify existing items, you will need to have a field in your feed that matches the same field in your OpenCart store. Here you can specify which field this is, choosing between Model, Name or SKU. It is recommended that you use Model  or SKU in preference to Name, as the match must be exact in order to identify existing products. Using Name is more risky.

Items in store but not in file:  Specify what to do with items in your store that are not in the file. If your supplier has stopped selling a product you may want these deleted, disabled or ignored.

Items to Import: This setting lets you make sub sets of products to import. This can be particularly useful if you find your server is struggling with the load of adding / updating all the products. To use the setting select 'Range' then add a range of products say 1 -> 1000. Once completed you can add more products by running it from 1001 -> 2000 and so on doing manageable subsets your server can handle.

Profiles: By typing a name of a profile in the top right input box you can save all settings up to this point for easy loading. You can find more on this in the profiles section. Saving a profile also allows you to run it automatically via cron.

I use this module all the time, but as of recently I have noticed something strange. I have the latest version with 1.5.4.1, and there are certain products that repeat the description 3 times once imported. I am not sure why this happens, but it is happening on a lot of different products.

Hi Team, I have total import pro installed on our site. I get to this step fine when I am importing a feed. When we execute it seems nothing happens. We did have this working before but updated to opencart Version 1.5.4. It does not return an error it just goes blank without importing the items. We need some support on the issue please.

Hi Adam, try downloading the latest version of the Total Import PRO and installing it. There were a lot of changes introduced in 1.5.4 and if you are using an earlier version (pre 1.5.4) it is likely you need to update. You can always found the latest version available at the store where you purchased the product, under the downloads section on your account. If for some reason you can not find it or have further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at enquiry@hostjars.com

Lars, Thank you for the reply. I did reply back to 'enquiry@hostjars.com' also. I have upgraded but I am having the same issue. What is the quickest way to get support. We have a feed we need to upload.

    Thanks,

Hello. I have been suing TIP for a year now. Recently I decided to change my step 5 from empty database before import to not empty database - I want to use the options:

    New items = add

    Existing items = Skip

And use based on model field (which I have mapped in previous step)

However, in my TIP screen for step 5 - there is no 'based on' choice to specify the field that TIP uses to determine if a prod is new or existing. So I cannot set it and when I import I get duplicates

    OC = 1.5.4

Pls dont say update to latest TIP

It was working fine - then it stopped working.

    thanks

    Hi,

The "Empty store before import:" was accidentally set to 'Yes', and when I import my csv, my entire store with 3000++ products was wiped out in a few seconds. I think this is a very dangerous tool and should not be so easily accessible and MUST provide a second or third confirmation before it's executed.

At its current location in the import tool, it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Is there a way to undo this command?

    Thanks,

    YC

    Hi

I need some help please, I have the cron job set up to run every on the hosting https://www.onestopappliances.co.uk and noticed that some stock figures don't seem to be matching up with what is on the site unless they sold some since the cron job last ran but also noticed some products are missing from the site that on the cron job url, below is the url that the site is pulling the products in from

    http://data.pikapak.co.uk/downloads/933/1427e294ba13caa6be9e2ac8a8453352/Products.csv

for example on that excel sheet is a product code ZXC683W but that does not seem to be on the website

regarding the stock figures, product code XR510W says 492 in stock on the site but on the excel sheet it says 488

just wondering if there is a issue with the url or the cron set up as would of thought it would add the product ZXC683W and a few others that seem to be missing

on the opencart site in the admin side, I have it set to add new products and update existing products on the site

Can anyone help me please urgently

Sorry sorted above but noticed there is a bug in total import pro, it don't seem to add or update products if it don't have a image defined in the csv feed when importing from a url, can that be fixed at all
